HKSTP-PolyU Tech Incubation Fund (TIF) Scheme
Seeding Technology Start-ups
The TIF Scheme is an initiative to encourage and support PolyU students, graduates and professoriate staff to start up technology businesses and commercialise their R&D deliverables. It was launched in 2014 with funding support from Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) of the HKSAR Government under Technology Start-up Support Scheme for Universities (TSSSU). Partnering with HKSTP, each approved start-up is awarded a seed fund of HK$100,000 and admission to HKSTP incubation programmes.
As of 30 June 2017, 34 technology start-ups had been supported under this Scheme, with over 90% of them are still actively operating.
Starting from FY2017/18, the TIF Scheme will be consolidated into PolyU Micro Fund Scheme (Technology Stream)
